Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of EHS Operations to develop and implement world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will drive compliance, lead corporate EHS initiatives, and ensure a proactive culture while reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

You will mentor EHS staff, deploy safety training, and leverage data analytics to improve performance. This role requires 50% domestic travel and a strong leadership presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs while maintaining client success.
• Proven ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a proactive safety culture with a zero-incident mindset across sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and governance of safety systems.
• Oversee incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Mentor EHS professionals and ensure quality safety training.
• Travel approximately 50% domestically.
