Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will drive the EHS strategy, oversee governance of safety standards, and champion a behavior-based safety culture with enterprise-wide influence.

Reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety, you will guide training, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations while mentoring EHS teams and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years in management.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with client success focus.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong change management, motivation, and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a proactive safety culture with incident prevention across sites.
• Lead enterprise EHS risk assessments, embedding PSM and hygiene best practices.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems and analytics tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety standards and policies.
• Oversee incident investigations and establish corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and ensure high-quality training.
• Travel 50% domestically.
