Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across our US manufacturing facilities. You will develop strategy, oversee execution, and champion a proactive, behavior-based safety culture at all sites.

This role reports to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety and requires 50% travel. Qualifications include a BA/BS in Safety or Engineering, 10 years EHS experience with 5 years in leadership, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead change and manage multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy across sites.
• Drive a proactive, zero-incident safety culture.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation.
• Develop and govern EHS management systems and analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Coach EHS professionals and leadership teams.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
