Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across our manufacturing facilities and operations in the United States. This role reports to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and drives a proactive, behavior-based safety culture with strong governance and data-driven actions.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in safety or engineering, 10+ years in EHS with 5+ in management, and excellent stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field.
• 10 years EHS experience with 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with a client-focused mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, analytical and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy.
• Drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation with PSM and IH best practices.
• Oversee the development and governance of EHS management systems and tools with data analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions.
• Lead, mentor, and coach EHS professionals and leadership; 50% travel domestically.
