Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Emergency Call Handling (ECH) Field Engineer to implement and support ECH solutions on-premise and cloud. This remote role requires extensive travel across the US and internationally, with emphasis on configuration, testing, cutover, and post-cut support.

You will collaborate with customers and partners to deploy hybrid cloud and SaaS-based ECH components, document changes, and maintain expertise in evolving cloud-native public safety technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the deployment or integration of complex IP products and systems.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA)
• Experience with cloud-based troubleshooting including connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/AD).
• Experience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting of: Server Virtualization (RedHat KVM, VMware ESXi), and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Database Servers, specifically Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016.
• Server Operating Systems, Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2.
• Workstation OS, Windows 10 & 11.
• Linux.
• Network Switches, Cisco IOS.
• Basic knowledge of Firewalls (Fortinet FortiGate).
• Telephony knowledge related to analog lines and PRI.
• Active Directory knowledge for account segregation and role assignments.
• Ability to operate independently using guides and remote support options.
• Time management for deployment teams.
• Familiarity with virtual machine deployments (ESXi/KVM RedHat) and Cisco switches.

Responsibilities

• Performs system configuration for all supported ECH solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS-based applications.
• Performs site verification testing prior to cutting a site into a production environment.
• Configures and troubleshoots connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted environments.
• Provides deployment support to customers and Channel Partners during production deployment.
• Documents all changes to the solution and cloud configurations during implementation.
• Ensures installation/quality issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Participates in developing and approving Methods of Procedure (MOP) for cloud migrations and upgrades.
• Participates in pre-contract presentations and customer negotiations as required.
• Maintains subject matter expertise in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies.
