Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Commercial Solutions Engineer to bridge technology, customer success, and revenue growth across utilities, critical infrastructure, emergency response, and more. You will design solutions with Account Executives, lead technical engagements, and ensure successful deployments from onboarding to expansion.

Remote role with 50–75% travel to support customer engagements, field activities, deployments and company events.

Qualifications

• Experience in unmanned aircraft operation or regulatory environments.
• Experience in core commercial segments: utilities, AEC, security, or oil and gas.
• Technical background in aviation, engineering, computer science, software development, or hardware design.
• Familiarity with integrations, REST-based APIs, or similar technologies.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to audiences from pilots to executives.
• Solutions-focused mindset to support the sales process and revenue goals.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives through the full sales cycle: technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and the technical narrative that differentiates Skydio.
• Translate complex use cases into operational workflows and scalable deployment practices.
• Run proofs of concept with structured deployments tied to active opportunities.
• Guide integration and airspace strategy — REST APIs and customer data environments, security, video platforms, networking, BVLOS approvals, waivers, and docked operations.
• Guide customers through onboarding, implementation, and expansion, and build reusable technical assets for scale.
• Provide direct field feedback to Product and Engineering as prioritized requirements.
