Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Director of Web Experience & Performance to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the company’s global web ecosystem. You will drive performance, experimentation, and AI-driven personalization to accelerate growth across B2B, B2C, and B2B2C markets.

The role reports to the Vice President of Marketing Operations within the Global Marketing Organization and leads a global web management and production team. It is a remote role with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading web, digital experience, optimization, or digital marketing in enterprise environments.
• Proven track record delivering measurable outcomes from web optimization and conversion strategies.
• Experience leading large-scale web transformation, migrations, or consolidations in enterprise settings.
• Deep expertise in CMS, asset management, analytics, customer journey optimization, SEO, personalization, and experimentation.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled optimization technologies and modern digital experience ecosystems.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, privacy regulations, and digital governance.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise web strategy and platform roadmap aligned to business goals.
• Own web performance metrics including engagement, conversion, and growth contribution.
• Lead optimization program across experiences, journeys, content, messaging, and conversion paths.
• Build and scale AI-powered experimentation and personalization at scale.
• Deliver large-scale digital transformation initiatives including CMS migrations and governance.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a global web operations team with clear goals and metrics.
