Cengage Group in the United States is seeking a Director of Web Experience Design to shape the vision and strategy for our web ecosystem. You will lead a design team and align product, marketing, analytics, and engineering to deliver compelling experiences that connect customers with our products and services.

You will drive experimentation, optimize ecommerce, and ensure accessibility and innovative interaction patterns.

Qualifications

3+ years of people management in a Web Experience Design context.
Experience with ecommerce, growth, and conversion optimization.
Deep expertise in UX and UI design principles.
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Portfolio is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience and define UX/UI strategy.
Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to run rapid prototyping and tests.
Advance ecommerce and optimize high-value conversion moments.
Design across the full customer journey from acquisition to engagement.
Use data and analytics to identify opportunities and prioritize initiatives.
Foster a culture of continuous optimization and measurable impact.
Stay ahead of evolving web/design practices including AI-enabled features.
Develop and mentor junior designers into leaders.
