Job summary

Norstella is seeking a Director of Analytics & Insights to lead and grow the RWD/RWE strategy within Content Operations. This player-manager role directs a small team of technical RWD specialists and partners with cross-functional teams in Technology, Product, and Data Science to deliver AI-ready real-world data insights.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on work in strategy, evidence logic, and specification with leadership to scale RWE capabilities across therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' hands-on experience in RWD study design and statistical ownership across data sources such as claims, lab, EMR/EHR, registries.
• Fluency in US real-world data sources and their strengths/limits; ability to translate into cohort definitions and endpoints.
• Proficiency in SQL/Python and R and/or SAS to review scripts and outputs and provide substantive feedback.
• Strong clinical expertise with ability to translate clinical reasoning into buildable specifications.
• MD or equivalent medical qualification highly desirable; other life sciences degrees considered with clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set the RWD/RWE strategy and direct how real-world evidence is generated, structured and productised.
• Own cross-functional stakeholder relationships across Product, Services, Technology and Data Science.
• Represent RWD as a function across Product, Data Science, Content and Technology, resolving tradeoffs.
• Translate clinical and RWD expertise into precise buildable specifications and business rules.
• Ensure clear communication with product and AI teams developing RWE roadmap items and on-time data delivery.
• Report progress, risks and implications to executive leadership.
• Own the defensible logic and study design standards across therapeutic areas.
• Develop clinically justified assumptions and edge-case handling for robust implementations.
• Build reusable RWD intellectual property and establish governance for documented definitions.
