Job summary

Milliman, Inc. seeks a Director of Products and Engineering to create and scale a Pharmacy Platform from 0 to 1. You will set vision, lead AI product engineers, and own client outcomes, adoption, and a growing business.

You will collaborate with pharmacists and actuaries to shape the product and drive commercial success. You will manage architecture, data integrations, security, and multi-tenancy while implementing AI capabilities and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in product leadership, healthcare technology, pharmacy benefits, or healthcare consulting, including taking at least one product or platform from concept to paying customers.
• Pharmacy or pharmacy-benefit domain fluency. You understand how PBMs, health plans, employers, and pharmacies make money and make decisions.
• Platform and systems thinking. You can go deep with engineers on architecture, data models, integrations, and build-vs-buy, and then explain those choices to executives in business terms.
• Hands-on AI fluency. You have used generative AI and LLM tooling to build or ship products, not just evaluate them.
• Commercial ownership. You have managed a product P&L, budget, or revenue line, supported sales, and grown client relationships.
• Leadership. You have built and developed teams, delegated well, and coached others into owners.
• Executive communication. Your writing and speaking are clear and compelling to both C-suite buyers and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform vision and strategy, and define a multi-year roadmap.
• Lead product discovery, data integrations, and architecture trade-offs with engineering.
• Build AI into the product from the start, including agents and natural-language analytics.
• Ship an MVP quickly, then iterate on real usage data.
• Build and scale a cross-functional team of AI product engineers and TPMs.
• Grow a bench to run the platform without you in the room.
• Own the platform's commercial results and client relationships.
