Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum AI team seeks a strategic product leader for a commercial AI platform. You’ll own the platform's roadmap, define SKU and pricing, and ensure security, PHI readiness, and developer experience.

You will partner with engineering and business teams to translate client needs into requirements, balance cost and value, and drive adoption, time-to-value, and unit economics. This is a technical PM role with significant influence over platform direction and close collaboration

Qualifications

Experience owning an API-first product or platform
Proven ability to drive platform roadmaps from conception to launch
Strong understanding of AI/ML systems and risk considerations

Responsibilities

Own the product strategy, roadmap and outcomes for a commercial AI platform
Define SKU, pricing, entitlement models and metering to protect margins
Translate client demand into technically actionable requirements for engineers
Treat developer experience as a product, with clear metrics and documentation quality
Build and defend the business case and carry it through funding processes
Define instrumentation and success metrics (adoption, time-to-value, latency, cost)
Partner with security, privacy, legal and regulatory teams to ensure PHI handling and governance
Coordinate go-to-market with sales, client engineering and operations
Ensure platform commitments are delivered on time and within budget
Influence cross-functional teams to align with enterprise platform strategy
Communicate trade-offs to senior leaders and customers
