Job summary

The Director of Automation and Control Systems at GAF oversees the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization while supporting production facilities.

You'll influence capital planning, lead cross-functional collaboration with IT, process services, and R&D, and ensure safety, governance, and timely delivery across multiple locations in a remote US role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of: CAD, HMI development, Programmable logic controllers, G-Suite, Advanced diagnostic tools

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to the manufacturing facilities 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate the team.
• Manage all financial responsibilities: capital projects, budget development and reporting.
• Lead software identification and implementation for automation projects.
• Oversee engineering practices and mitigate obsolescence in controls systems.
• Provide leadership and promote a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
• Promote safety excellence and ensure adherence to corporate safety standards.
