Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to lead the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive innovation and manufacturing optimization. The role focuses on capital planning, cross-functional collaboration, and providing operational support to production facilities.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 10+ years in manufacturing, and proven leadership across multiple locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
10+ years of manufacturing experience.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven experience leading a team directly or indirectly.
Proven relationship-building and development of strong partnerships.
Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to 3- and 5-year capital plans for facilities.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, Business Systems and R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
Oversee budgeting, capital projects, and financial reporting for the team.
Identify and implement software for Automation and Controls across operations.
Ensure documentation and governance for controls systems and projects.
