Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to lead the Automation and Controls group across manufacturing locations, partnering with engineering to drive innovation and operational excellence.

The role shapes capital plans, aligns cross-functional teams, ensures safety and documentation, and delivers strategic support to production facilities while promoting a culture of continuous improvement at GAF.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
10+ years manufacturing experience.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven leadership of teams (direct or indirect).
Experience building partnerships with internal/external groups.
Knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite, diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Manage all functions of the Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to 3- and 5-year capital plans for manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, and R&D to integrate the team.
Oversee capital projects, budgeting, and financial reporting for the group.
Define and enforce engineering practices, documentation, and project deployment."
Promote safety culture, continuous education, and workforce development.
