Job summary

GAF, Remote, US, is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous innovation while supporting production facilities.

This role influences capital planning, aligns with manufacturing optimization initiatives, and leads safety, documentation, and cross-functional projects across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of: Computer assisted drawing; Human machine interface development; Programmable logic controllers; G-Suite; Advanced diagnostic tools

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital planning for facilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, and others to integrate teams.
• Manage all financial responsibilities including capital projects and budgets.
• Identify and implement automation software across the team.
• Provide leadership and promote a culture of safety and continuous education.
• Ensure documentation and machine health across projects.
