Job summary

GAF, a leading roofing manufacturer, seeks a Director of Automation and Control Systems to guide the Automation & Controls team across facilities. You will collaborate with engineering to drive innovation and capital planning while supporting production operations.

This role requires 10+ years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and a track record delivering cross-site automation projects. Remote work within the US is supported; travel up to 60% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering and other groups to integrate Automation and Controls.
• Manage all financial responsibilities of the team including capital projects and budgeting.
• Oversee software identification and implementation with operations systems.
• Lead engineering practices, mitigate obsolescence, and ensure proper documentation.
