Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, partner with engineering, and drive continuous innovation. You will influence capital planning, align with manufacturing optimization initiatives, and provide hands-on leadership across multiple locations while ensuring safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
Working knowledge of CAD; HMI development; PLCs; G-Suite; advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to 3- and 5-year capital plans for manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, and other groups to integrate Automation and Controls into the organization.
Manage all financial responsibilities including capital projects and budgeting.
Guide project implementation from development to deployment and maintain documentation.
Provide leadership and foster a safe, collaborative, customer-focused culture.
