Job summary

The Director of Automation and Control Systems at GAF is responsible for guiding the Automation & Controls group across multiple facilities, working with engineering to drive continuous innovation and cost-effective improvements. You will influence capital planning and ensure safety and governance across projects while aligning with manufacturing optimization goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering and R&D to integrate the team.
• Manage all financial responsibilities: capitalized projects, budgets and reporting.
• Advance automation software implementations and documentation.
• Provide leadership promoting safety excellence and team development.
