Job summary

The Director of Automation and Control Systems at GAF will oversee the Automation and Controls group across multiple facilities, collaborating with engineering to foster continuous innovation and improve manufacturing processes.

With 10+ years in manufacturing and a degree in engineering, you will drive capital planning input, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure safety and reliability in control systems while building strong partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, and other groups.
• Manage financials: capital projects, budget development, and reporting.
• Guide software implementations and maintain documentation.
• Lead safety and machine-health initiatives across facilities.
