Job summary

Coinbase is hiring Staff Software Engineers across multiple teams in the Developer Infrastructure group within Platform. You will own the tools and systems every Coinbase engineer relies on to build and ship software, including CI and deployment orchestration.

Lead cross-cutting initiatives and set technical direction while driving reliability and developer efficiency. Expect to mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and deliver scalable platform solutions that affect thousands of engineers

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production distributed systems.
• Ability to design and ship backend/platform systems relied upon by many engineers.
• Strong leadership on cross-team initiatives and architectural direction.
• Focus on reliability, observability, and fast recovery from incidents.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Responsible use of AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and align across dependent teams.
• Improve build, CI wall time, deploy speed, and feedback latency.
• Oversee reliability via SLOs, observability, and on-call processes.
• Drive large-scale platform migrations and production readiness.
• Partner with engineering customers and leadership to shape technical strategy.
