Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Design Engineer for Battery Energy Storage to support utility-scale renewable project design nationwide. Remote work from anywhere in the US is possible, with options to work from Ulteig offices.

Responsibilities include developing BESS layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, and equipment details, while collaborating with clients and a multi-discipline team to drive optimized EPC designs.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of power systems experience, Renewable BESS preferred.
• Experience with CYMCAP, ETAP or EasyPower helpful.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects with aggressive schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop BESS layouts, one-lines, collection systems, and installation details for utility-scale renewables (50–500MW+).
• Interact with clients for project execution and collaborate in multi-discipline teams.
• Support early-stage conceptual designs and material take-offs.
• Contribute to internal engineering standards and tools; transform concepts into optimized EPC designs.
