Job summary

Ul te ig is seeking a Design Engineer – Battery Energy Storage to join our electrical engineering team. You will design BESS layouts, one-lines, and collection systems for large utility-scale projects, coordinating with clients and internal engineers to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

You will work with a cross-functional team, develop conceptual designs, and help refine standards and tools while staying current with evolving technologies and NEC requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in power systems, with detailed design of Renewable BESS strongly preferred.
• Experience with CYMCAP preferred.
• Experience with ETAP and/or EasyPower preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex information to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop renewable project design/construction packages including BESS layouts and electrical one-lines for utility-scale systems (50-500MW+).
• Interact with clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Lead design of multi-discipline teams (2-4 people) and support from CAD technicians.
• Support early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs.
• Contribute to internal engineering standards and workflows.
