Job summary
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and operate security controls across the enterprise data estate, including platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Azure SQL. You will work 100% remotely from approved states, collaborating with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, and IT teams.
Responsibilities include encryption management, least-privilege access, data masking, and secure data pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related discipline.
- Experience in cloud data security, database security, or data engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL, data protection controls, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain data protection controls across enterprise data estate.
- Configure encryption for data at rest and in transit, manage keys and vaults.
- Establish least-privilege access models and conduct entitlement reviews.
- Harden security configurations for platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, and SQL Server.
- Automate deployment and validation of controls using IaC and platform APIs.
