Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and operate protection controls across the enterprise data estate, including encryption, key management, and access controls.

You will work 100% remotely from approved states, collaborating with Security Operations, Data Analytics, and IT teams to secure data pipelines and platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, cloud engineering, data engineering, or related field with focus on data protection.

Responsibilities

• Implement, operate and improve data protection controls across enterprise data estate.
• Configure encryption controls for data at rest and in transit; manage CMKs and keys.
• Enforce least-privilege access and perform quarterly entitlement reviews.
• Embed security controls into data ingestion, transformation, and export workflows.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews with technical evidence.
