Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and improve security controls across the enterprise data estate. You will work remotely from any approved US state, partnering with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, and IT teams to protect data across platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Azure SQL.

You’ll design encryption, access controls, data masking, and secure data pipelines, reporting to the Deputy CISO.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related discipline.
• 7+ years in information security, cloud engineering, database engineering, data engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years focused on data protection or database security.
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Implements data protection controls across the enterprise data estate with labeling, masking, and de-identification.
• Operates encryption controls for data at rest and in transit, manages CMKs and rotation.
• Implements least-privilege access models and conducts entitlement reviews.
• Harden security configurations for Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, and data lakes.
• Automates control deployment and compliance validation via scripting and IaC.
