Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is hiring a Data Security Engineer to implement and improve controls across the enterprise data estate. You’ll work remotely from approved states, securing data pipelines, encryption, and access controls while collaborating with IT and analytics teams to protect institutional data.

Responsibilities include configuring data protection, performing entitlement reviews, and automating security deployments using IaC and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in information security or related field with 2+ years in data protection.
• Proficiency with SQL and secure data controls; scripting/automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection controls across the enterprise data estate.
• Operate encryption, key management, and access control configurations.
• Automate deployment, validation, and evidence collection for security controls.
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics, Security Operations, and IT teams.
