Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Data Engineering Manager to lead the design and build-out of a cloud-based data platform across the firm. You will set standards for data engineering, assure data quality and governance, and coordinate with Data Science & AI teams and IT operations to deliver secure, scalable data products.

The role requires strong leadership, SQL, Python, and hands-on experience with Azure/AWS, plus a track record of delivering data solutions in modern cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• 3–5 years leading data engineering or related teams, setting direction and standards.
• Experience managing budgets and cost-conscious decisions about tools and platforms.
• Strong understanding of modern data engineering practices for analytics and AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and build-out of the firm's cloud-based data platform from the ground up.
• Define standards for data engineering, code quality, testing, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Coordinate cross-team efforts with Data Science & AI, IT Operations and business leaders.
• Ensure data platform is scalable, reliable, and secure; manage performance and capacity risks.
• Oversee governance, lineage, access controls, and responsible data use.
