Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the design and build-out of a cloud-based data platform for analytics, reporting, applications, and AI. You will guide data collection, consolidation, and organization, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure data products.

The role requires 3–5 years leading data engineering teams, strong SQL and Python skills, and cloud experience (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• 3–5 years leading data engineering teams; setting direction, standards, and priorities.
• Experience managing budgets for tools, platforms, and services.
• Strong understanding of modern data engineering practices for analytics and AI.
• Extensive data management and transformation experience; performance and scalability.
• Advanced SQL experience and design of data structures in relational and other stores.
• Experience designing data solutions in cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
• Working knowledge of Python and common data tooling; review designs with engineers.
• Collaboration with data scientists/analysts/AI practitioners and impact on analytics.
• Familiarity with data visualization, reporting, and end-to-end platform needs.
• Experience with SDLC and software engineering best practices; version control, testing, deployment, monitoring, secure data.
