Job summary

Reboot Monkey is a global leader in IT solutions, specializing in data center management with on‑demand support for clients worldwide. As a Freelance Data Center Technician, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain servers and networking gear, while coordinating with remote teams to ensure high uptime and security.

You will independently handle hardware and software tasks, document activities for the remote management team, and collaborate with vendors to deliver efficient data center

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field.
• 3+ years in data center operations or freelance environments.
• Strong knowledge of data center hardware, networking, and security.
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper devices; virtualization a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers and networking gear to ensure uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site; diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco/Juniper).
• Manage Linux and Windows systems; apply patches and security updates.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance; report to remote team.
• Implement security protocols to protect infrastructure.
• Collaborate with remote teams and vendors on data center projects.
