Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking skilled Freelance Data Center Technicians to join a global team delivering on-demand data center support. You will install, configure, and maintain servers and networking gear, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with remote IT teams to ensure high uptime and security across data centers.

The role offers flexible scheduling, remote work options, and opportunities to work with leading data center technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations.
• Ability to travel to various data center locations on short notice.
• Strong Linux and Windows system administration.
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper networking devices.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs.
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers and networking equipment for optimal performance and uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot networking devices (Cisco/Juniper) for secure operations.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems, applying updates and security patches.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance for remote management reporting.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect infrastructure.
• Collaborate with remote teams, vendors, and stakeholders on projects.
