Job summary

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport in customer data centers. You will interface with customers and vendors, audit work, and drive high‑quality execution across installations, migrations, and remote hands services.

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of experience in data center operations or similar environment with customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode & multi-mode).
• Experience with optical testing and transport troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and verbal English for customer communications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers via ticketing tools or face-to-face; provide clear reports and updates.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migration activities.
• Conduct and/or supervise optical testing and troubleshooting using optical meters and test sets.
• Deliver services by following Methods of Procedure, engineering docs, vendor docs, and network diagrams.
• Read and interpret cut sheets and network design docs to ensure proper port connections.
