Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Customer Experience Consultant Trainee to bridge online and in-store experiences, guiding customers through sales, appraisals, financing, and delivery with honesty and clarity.

You will respond to inquiries, leverage inventory knowledge to propose vehicles, and work toward individual targets while delivering a consistently iconic customer experience. This role supports flexibility with hours and location.

Qualifications

• Previous sales or customer service experience in retail or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple interactions
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Salesforce and Genesys (or equivalents)

Responsibilities

• Engage with inbound customers online and over the phone, uncovering needs and guiding through the car-buying process
• Leverage inventory knowledge to recommend vehicles that fit customer preferences
• Guide customers through online sales, appraisals, financing, and scheduling delivery
• Ensure smooth transition from online to in-store shopping for an iconic experience
• Meet individual sales and performance targets while delivering exceptional service
• Meet licensing requirements, including Automotive Salesperson License where needed
