Boston Medical Center's SafeSpot program seeks a Part-Time Remote Hotline Operator to engage callers using a harm-reduction approach. You will handle incoming calls, provide crisis support, and connect people to treatment resources while documenting data for state reporting.

Requires an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and strong communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and data entry is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year related experience (will consider equivalent combination of formal education and experience).
• Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health setting preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual preferred.
• Proficient with standard Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Typing proficiency and basic math skills; strong organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide Hotline support for the state resource center for opioid dependence.
• Deliver crisis intervention and reliable referral services.
• Coordinate OBOT program activities and data collection for reporting.
• Assist clients in linking to addiction services and treatment.
• Screen potential patients and triage walk-in callers.
• Back up to medical assistants and maintain wait lists per federal regulations.
• Disseminate resource materials and update client resources.
• Attend staff and state meetings and take minutes.
