Job summary

SafeSpot, a program of Boston Medical Center, is seeking a part-time Hotline Operator for remote work. You will provide confidential crisis support, referrals to addiction treatment, and data collection for reporting.

The role involves coordinating OBOT activities and assisting clients in navigating addiction services. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with 1 year of related experience; bilingual skills and knowledge of addiction services are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year related experience; HS/GED plus 3 years may be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Experience in a substance abuse or mental health setting is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual/multilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hotline support for state resource center for opioid dependence.
• Offer crisis intervention and referrals to addiction services.
• Coordinate OBOT program activities as needed.
• Collect and enter data for statistics and reporting.
• Assist clients with linkage to treatment services; detox and outpatient options.
• Triage walk-in patients seeking opioid treatment; provide education and support.
• Screen potential patients and support medical staff as needed.
• Maintain wait lists in compliance with federal regulations.
• Disseminate resource materials to clients, families, and providers.
• Attend staff and state meetings and take minutes.
