Job summary

Boston Medical Center's SafeSpot program seeks a Hotline Operator to manage 24/7 confidential calls, providing harm-reduction, information, and referrals to opioid treatment services. The role emphasizes data collection, rapid crisis intervention, and linkage to treatment, with part-time, remote scheduling and opportunities to support the state resource center.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with 1 year related experience; HS/GED + 3 years acceptable
• Bachelor’s degree desirable
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health setting preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual skills preferred
• Proficient with standard Microsoft programs; data management and basic math skills required

Responsibilities

• Provide Hotline support for state resource center on opioid dependence
• Offer crisis intervention and referrals
• Coordinate OBOT program activities
• Enter data for statistics and reporting
• Assist clients with linkage to addiction services and treatment
• Triage walk-in patients seeking treatment
• Back up support to medical assistant
• Maintain wait list per federal regulations
• Disseminate resources to clients and families
• Attend staff and state meetings and take minutes
