Job summary

Boston Medical Center's SafeSpot program seeks a Hotline Operator to handle 24/7 confidential calls, using harm-reduction approaches. This part-time, remote role supports opioid dependence resources and treatment navigation in Massachusetts.

Strong communication and data-entry skills are essential. Ideal candidates have an associate degree with related experience; bilingual abilities and familiarity with addiction services are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year related experience (will consider HS/GED plus 3 years related experience).
• Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hotline support for state resource center for opioid dependence.
• Coordinate with OBOT program activities and assist with data collection for reporting.
• Assist clients to access addiction treatment services and schedule appointments.
• Triage walk-in patients and maintain wait lists in compliance with federal regs.
• Disseminate resource materials and collaborate with public health staff.
• Attend staff and state meetings and take minutes.
