Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Learning Subject Matter Expert to lead editorial quality for educational assessments in a fully remote role. You will apply rigorous grammar, style, and terminology standards while collaborating across Editorial, Assessment, and Content teams.

Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential as you support content quality and accessibility. You will work with Pearson‑preferred publishing platforms and leverage AI tools to enhance content while adhering to copyright

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency in spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Ability to apply major style/usage references (Chicago, Gregg, Garner’s, etc.).
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office 365 apps; understands HTML/XML basics.
• Clear, respectful communication; ability to give and receive feedback.
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage deadlines; independent and adaptable.
• Mentor or support peers; maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Experience with AI-enabled editorial tools and content development.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components.
• Judiciously applies client style guidelines and queries deviations when needed.
• Understands the copyeditor’s scope and flags concerns when beyond scope.
• Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
