Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Learning Subject Matter Expert to join the Assessment & Qualifications team in a remote, full-time capacity. You will deliver meticulous editorial work, ensure alignment with educational standards, and collaborate across multiple departments to maintain high-quality assessment content.

The role emphasizes end-to-end copyediting, adherence to major style guides, and applying best practices in accessibility and universal design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office 365 apps; understands HTML/XML basics and web publishing.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department and client standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components and identifies errors.
• Applies client style guidelines and flags deviations when needed.
• Leads editorial coordination and may guide other editors.
• Uses AI tools where appropriate to enhance content with editorial oversight.
