Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Conflicts Counsel (Lateral Hire Focus) to join the Conflicts Department. You will identify and resolve conflicts of interest related to intake, lateral clearance, and client engagements, while ensuring compliance with professional conduct rules.

You will collaborate with risk management, draft waivers, maintain records, train staff, and assist with RFPs and proposals. The role may be remote or in any firm location.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active U.S. law license required or eligible.
• Two or more years of conflicts-related experience preferred.
• Strong writing and analytical skills for conflicts issues.
• Experience with conflicts software and matter intake processes is a plus.
• Ability to travel to other firm locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve conflicts of interest for intake and lateral hires.
• Draft and review engagement letters and waivers addressing conflicts.
• Communicate with attorneys, staff, and leadership on conflicts matters.
• Maintain accurate records in conflicts databases and Intapp.
• Review outside counsel guidelines and engagement agreements for deviations.
• Provide training on conflicts, ethics, and professional responsibility.
