Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Conflicts Counsel to lead conflict of interest reviews across intake, lateral hires, and engagement letters. This role collaborates with the Conflicts, Client Engagement, and Risk Management teams and may be performed remotely or in any firm location.

Essential duties include reviewing requests, drafting waivers, advising on ethical walls, maintaining records, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active law license in the U.S.
• 3+ years of direct, full-time conflicts experience at a large law firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Boolean searching techniques preferred.
• Experience with Intapp Open and Intapp Terms preferred.
• Ability to identify and analyze conflict of interest issues and to implement solutions.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve conflicts of interest in intake and ongoing matters.
• Draft conflicts waivers and review engagement letters for conflicts.
• Communicate with partners, staff and leadership regarding conflicts.
• Maintain accurate records of conflicts resolutions.
• Assist with ethical walls implementation.
• Provide training to conflicts team and firm attorneys.
• Review outside counsel guidelines and engagement agreements.
