Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Conflicts Counsel (Lateral Hire Focus) to join its Conflicts Department. The role will identify and resolve conflicts of interest for new matters, lateral candidates, and engagement negotiations, including drafting waivers and advising on ethical walls.

The position collaborates with client engagement and risk management teams and may be filled remotely. The ideal candidate holds a JD with active U.S.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active law license in the U.S. in the candidate's jurisdiction.
• Two or more years of conflicts-related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Intapp Open and Intapp Terms strongly preferred.
• Strong writing skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve conflicts of interest for intake and ongoing matters.
• Draft conflicts waivers and review engagement letters or OCGs.
• Provide guidance on ethical walls and conflicts language for engagements.
• Communicate findings to partners, staff, and leadership with clarity.
• Train and assist new hires and lateral partners on conflicts processes.
