Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our team, working remotely in the US with up to 75% travel to client locations for training, meetings and site visits. The role focuses on commissioning power distribution, UPS, BMS/BAS, HVAC and associated equipment, ensuring standards and procedures are met.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in electrical power distribution/ mechanical systems, an AA degree or equivalent, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and experience with

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Be organized; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and project team members.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
