Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent for a remote, US-based role with extensive travel (up to 75%). The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of electrical power distribution, mechanical systems, and commissioning procedures, with hands-on experience on generators, UPS, HVAC, and BMS systems.

Responsibilities include design reviews, developing startup and commissioning policies, QA/QC of installations, and coordinating with vendors and clients to ensure technical excellence, schedule

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel is a must.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Willingness to travel 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of equipment installation.
• Conduct construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Train plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors for testing and issue resolution.
• Review data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain communication with clients and project teams.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
