Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join remotely from the United States. The role involves commissioning critical equipment such as power distribution, UPS, generators, BMS/BAS, HVAC, and related systems for clients nationwide and internationally, with travel up to 75%.

You will review designs, develop startup/commissioning procedures, perform QA/QC, and conduct functional tests, reporting findings and coordinating with vendors and clients.

Qualifications

• 7 years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree or military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Be organized; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems and ensure testing conforms to standards.
• Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and project team members.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
