Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our team in a remote US-based role. You will be responsible for commissioning mission-critical systems such as gensets, UPS, BMS, and HVAC equipment, and for developing startup policies and testing protocols.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in commissioning of electrical/mechanical systems, a relevant degree or equivalent, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. The position requires extensive travel (up to 75%).

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems and ensure testing aligns with standards.
• Assist in training plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and project team members.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
