Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join our team in a remote US capacity. The role requires extensive travel (up to 75%) to client locations for training, meetings and in-person events.

You will commission mission-critical equipment such as generators, UPS, BMS, HVAC and power conditioning gear while coordinating with vendors and project teams. The ideal candidate has 7 years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems, plus a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both.
• AA degree, military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Be organized; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel is a must.
• Must have ability to work in a high stress environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop, oversee and write startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of the equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards and procedures.
• Assist in training plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors for problem resolution and testing.
• Review data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and project team members.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
