Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join the team as a Remote, US-based professional. The role focuses on commissioning mission-critical equipment, including power distribution, UPS, STS, PDU, BAS & BMS systems, and HVAC.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical knowledge and proven customer service skills. This position requires up to 75% travel, potentially national and international, with remote work and occasional client-site visits for training and meetings.

Qualifications

• 7 years in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems
• AA degree, military training or equivalent
• Experience diagnosing construction/operational problems
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must travel 75% and have passport
• Experience with commissioning procedures (e.g., ASHRAE) preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of equipment installation.
• Conduct construction observations and develop functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical and mechanical systems per standards.
• Assist in training plant operations personnel and maintain client communication.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on testing and issue resolution.
• Review data and prepare technical reports.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations.
