Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager - Commercial Lines to manage an assigned book of business, ensuring retention and supporting new opportunities. The role involves coordinating daily administrative tasks, resolving complex issues, and delivering exceptional service across policy administration, billing, and renewals.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry, with active P&C licensing; CIC preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of account management experience, or 5+ years in insurance.
• Strong knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active property & casualty licensing; CIC designation preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
• Direct daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Renewal submissions: client research, proposals, coverages.
• Monitor accounts receivable and collect delinquent balances.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms.
• Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
• Communicate workload status with the account team.
• Deliver service excellence and anticipate client needs.
• Stay updated on company policies.
• Seek best practices to improve performance.
