Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Insight is hiring a full-time Remote Coding Supervisor to lead a small team of remote edit coders across multiple clients. The position supports scheduling, auditing, onboarding, and performance review within standard business hours.

Candidates must hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials (CCS, CIC, COC, or CPC), have 3+ years of ICD-10/CPT coding and acute care experience, and be proficient with EMR and encoder software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA or AAPC coding certification (CCS, CIC, COC, CPC) maintained annually.
• 3+ years ICD-10 and CPT coding experience in acute care.
• Experience with OCE, MUE, NCD, LCD, CCI/NCCI classification.
• 1+ years EMR/encoder software experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a remote team of edit coders across multiple clients.
• Monitor performance, attendance and productivity for up to 25 employees.
• Assist onboarding with HR and IT provisioning.
• Perform auditing and coordinate work queues.
• Collaborate with Billing Managers to streamline processes.
• Serve as primary contact to hospitals for access and coverage.
• Educate team using performance data to improve quality.
• Manage day-to-day operations and vendor/client coordination.
