Job summary
Optum Insight, a part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Coding Subject Matter Expert to oversee Optum360 Coding Departments within the region. You will drive quality metrics, standardize processes, and lead audits to meet or exceed SLAs and KPIs.
The role requires 4+ years in corporate coding leadership with multi-site teams, collaboration with CDI and QA, and proficiency in EMR/CAC tools. This is a remote-friendly position supporting facilities nationwide.
Qualifications
- AAPC or AHIMA coding credential.
- 4+ years as SME in corporate coding leadership for large multi-site org with 35+ staff.
- 4+ years inpatient/outpatient/ambulatory coding experience.
- 4+ years partnering with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.
- 4+ years with computer-assisted coding technologies and EMR coding workflow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Responsibilities
- Oversee coding operations and ensure best practices across facilities.
- Standardize processes, measure KPIs, and improve SLAs.
- Collaborate with HIM, CDI, client, and coding ops to monitor day-to-day coding.
- Drive quality assurance and remediation plans after audits.
- Lead and participate in leadership forums and staff development.
- Build strong client relationships and represent Optum360 values.
